Card Printing With Linoleum Blocks


I love the holiday traditions that my mother started when we were children. It allowed me to use my artistic talents and to share the final products with others.

My sister and I dreamed up a design and then carved the images onto linoleum blocks with special tools. I looked forward to creating a new block every year to produce a unique Christmas card to share with friends and family.

Thank you Jesus for allowing my introduction to this craft!

God is Trending



Television shows this Fall season are putting almighty God in the limelight and giving people who have never thought about Him the chance to consider what it means to have a relationship with the Lord and hopefully that will lead them to accept Jesus as their Savior! 

God is able to do ALL things - so much so that a human would come to the conclusion that everything that seemed impossible to his limited mind is very possible with God. Yay!!! 

Manifest, which aired on NBC last night, is one show that I hope will continue to have a storyline that will intrigue me enough to turn on the TV each week to watch it. 

Several other shows such as God Friended Me that uses social media as part of the plot may turn out to encourage viewers to seek out the Lord too. 

Stay tuned - there just might be a modern day revolution, a Jesus movement a brewing! In my lifetime the 1970s were filled with mainstream radio music and performers who followed the Lord and were vocal about their beliefs. Seems like it is time for generations today to meet their Savior! 

Christian groups have made headway in having their own music labels and music stations since the last century. How terrific that seeds are being planted in mainstream media that have the potential to create paths to lead others to the Good News of Christ. 

It's a new day and it is always the Lord's day. His will be done! :)

2014 Movie - Winter's Tale


There are so many wonderful moments in this film. Certainly Winter's Tale is worth a look.

Themes of the film include:
Life's journey is complex, Good versus Evil is an ongoing battle and despite it all, Miracles happen.

 Note - while rated PG-13, there is an intimate scene that could be fast-forwarded through as it is not so important to the plot. It is just there because the industry believes all movies should have that type of scene to have an audience. So untrue!

The story was very well thought out. It may be available for check-out at your local library or available on NetFlix.

Do Not Be Deceived

Spiritual Warfare is real. It happens every day. Satan is battling for weak souls and our Lord God is calling his people to Him. The Lord will win but there will be terrible events that people on earth will have to endure.

In today's high tech world, news and "entertainment" programs are presented in such a way to encourage sin, confusion, and discontent. 

People need to consider their responses to the horrific events they see in social media and in person.

Violence does not solve difference of opinion; it only promotes chaos and sometimes leads to death.

Damaging property and disobeying laws leads only to more time and funds wasted by individuals making negative choices.

So how do we solve these issues?

Love more, pray more, adher to the policy - when you see something, say something?

In the Holy Bible it is written that we should be very careful what we experience on a regular basis.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Why? Because before you know it, a thought could become an action.

In Case You Missed It! - Kentucky Derby 2018 - Jesus Honored by Mike Smith's Verbiage


So pleased this year to view the very short race from the comfort of my purple chair in front of my TV. I bet I had a better view than most who attended. :)

I prayed many times that no jockey or horse would be hurt as the rain was pouring on the muddy track in large drops. 

My Lord hears all!

No injuries happened and it was icing on the cake to hear the winning jockey Mike Smith, age 52, give credit to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his first place finish atop the horse Justify.

Why War?


Why War? Is it too crowded here? Do people not have enough space? 
Is it because everyone wants what someone else has? 
These 2 sites offer some explanation. 


My theory is that if we all asked Jesus to meet our every need that the people who exist now and in the future would not have acts of war.

I am not always good at waiting. I work hard at filling the minutes of my day by being constructive in a positive manner but lately I find I have more available time to fill while waiting for my dreams and goals to come to fruition!

Nashville’s best plant sale will be even bigger and better in 2018!!!

The PPS Plant Sale Committee has expanded our plant orders this year so that you will have a wider selection of perennials, shrubs, annuals, and vines than ever before.  Plus, we’ve increased the number of plants on offer. The sale will feature new, hard-to-find varieties and tried-and-tested favorites. 

All plants are grown in Tennessee to ensure success in your garden!

No sure what to buy? Expert plant guides will be on hand to help you locate the perfect plant for your garden. Plant signs show you the plant in bloom and offer advice on growing conditions. Plants are divided by sun and shade to help you pinpoint the best fit for your yard.

The sale will again take place in the Sports Arena building of The Fairgrounds Nashville.  

The sale begins at 9:00 a.m. and is Free to everyone.  Arrive before 8:30 a.m. for the best selection and a chance to win a $20 gift certificate for the sale. Metro charges $5 for parking. 

Please be prepared to leave pets at home and carts and strollers at the door.

All profits from the sale are used to fund educational scholarships, community grants, and horticultural programs at monthly PPS meetings. These meetings are free and open to the public, so please join us any time of the year at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, located west of downtown Nashville.

Documentary Biography of Iris Apfel




Every now and then I receive a pleasant surprise when channel surfing on the TV. 
This year I caught an airing of a magnificent documentary on the designer Iris Apfel

I had no idea who she was before I saw the footage and I wish I had the chance to meet her in person! A kindrid spirit who enjoys creating wearable art each day - she pairs her wardrobe choice with a unique and vibrant collection of jewelry about her neck and wrists. She has purchased clothes and accessories from around the globe and has a fantastic outlook on the way the world and its people function regularly. The style of glasses she wears are her signature feature.
