Documentary Biography of Iris Apfel

Every now and then I receive a pleasant surprise when channel surfing on the TV.
This year I caught an airing of a magnificent documentary on the designer Iris Apfel

I had no idea who she was before I saw the footage and I wish I had the chance to meet her in person! A kindrid spirit who enjoys creating wearable art each day - she pairs her wardrobe choice with a unique and vibrant collection of jewelry about her neck and wrists. She has purchased clothes and accessories from around the globe and has a fantastic outlook on the way the world and its people function regularly. The style of glasses she wears are her signature feature.

Click the word "documentary" just above to see an excerpt from the film. Enjoy!

Have you seen the classic film The Sound of Music? There is a lovely song crooned by the female lead called My Favorite Things.

Here are my top 3 favorite things:

- Enjoying a glass of merlot with vanilla undertones such as that created by Estancia Vineyards

- Discovering and purchasing a new Baggalini bag for my every day adventures!

Golden Globe Quotes

Eclipse 2017 - Photo by Laura Moody
Although my image above is of the recent eclipse of the sun by the moon, I thought it resembled a golden globe with that that bright light in the center!

So I watched the 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony this week. In case you missed it, here are a few celebrity quotes that I found filled with truth.

"You were born worthy" - Viola Davis, actress

"It's time for laughter. We hope we give 'em some." - John Goodman, actor

"Words and action can change the world and boy does it need some changin'!" - Gary Oldman, actor

Wishing you a wonderful 2018 filled with Hope, Joy and Peace!

Upcycled Wreath - A Cover Up! :)

Upcycled Wreath by Laura Moody:
Magazine pages painted with acrylic - A colorful cover-up!

The love of Jesus covers over a multitude of deplorable acts by humans. We need to look to our Lord and Savior for help every day!

These lyrics by Mark Hayes and Tim Hughes say it well:

Here I Am To Worship
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
Well, I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
Well, I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
Well, I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
Well, I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
