Money Saving Tips with regard to Entertainment / Communication

- Give up cable; watch DVDs or listen to CDs, both of which can be checked out from the public library

- Listen to the radio (some wonderful radio shows are on public radio stations, generally on the lower parts of the dial)

- Have friends who play instruments (free entertainment for your parties!)

- Use the Internet at the public library

- Plan potluck events with your friends (generally cost less to make your favorite recipe and to share, than to buy pre-made dishes from restaurants or grocery stores)

- Free Wi-Fi at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble and McDonald’s

- Go to your public library for reading material

- Sign up at Groupon web site (deals on fun things to do at a discount)

- Request a free phone number from Google Voice

- Send special occasion greeting cards from web sites that offer free eCards
